Uggh

We are all sick here. Yesterday Fi was really unwell, with a bad fever, and now I am yucky. Ugggh. Pray for better news some other day.

sad puppies

I need new feet. It has been a while since I have walked as much as I have in the last 3 days. On Sunday Scott and Marci took us to the zoo to see the panda bears. You and Fi are going to LOVE the zoo!!! And we spent Monday evening and most of yesterday walking around NY. We were able to crash with Topu. It was good to see him.

Nat started singing 42nd St every time we went by on the subway, I wanted to kill her. She leaves tomorrow.

What prompted your dad's visit?

Meow!

Hey Smoggi! How's the east coast? Did you manage to Escape from New York? Did you have fun in the Big Apple?

Yesterday was HORRID--our server was down the entire day. What a nightmare.

Today my dad dropped in for a surprise visit. Ummn.

Well, gotta go. My child is being rotten.

on the way

Hi ladies, I know that I've hardly left Oregon and I already can't wait to see you both in October. Things are going pretty well here. We went to the top of the St. Louis arch the other day, it was amazing.

Jarusha, can I get your mailing address. That would be super!

Yippee!

Yay, Smoggi--I just got your soap yesterday. It was postage due $1.00. Glad Mom got the mail, not me!

Anyway, it smells great.

Fun October visit idea:

Eliz found out that this festival will be going on October 9th--the first weekend I will be in DC! We should all go!

We love Eliz!

meow?

Hi, gang! How's it going? I can't believe Shayna is on the road RIGHT NOW. It's just too cool to be true.

Yesterday was awesome. My high school pal Katie was in town for the day, and so was our friend Jen, so we all hung out for a few hours last night. It was really nice. We went down to Lake Marie and just played in the sand with Fiona, mellow and cool-like (which was good, since yesterday was super hot). Then we hung out at Jen's house, where a quasi-tame deer came around and excited Fi.

Not much, really. Big hugs though!

carr's

okay, my mom got a box of carr's water biscuits today, and they contained digestive biscuits. I've read about them in so many British books! They taste pretty awesome, too--they're like a multigrain graham cracker or something. Anyway, I recommend them.

J, I am so excited about your name change! It'll be awesome to be officially Jarusha. What will your last name be? (Checking for spelling, here, please!)

My sister's visit was pretty good. We had a lot of fun hanging out together, although Isaac (my nephew) was pretty annoying, in a four-year-old whiney boy kind of way. But we are all glad she went home; guests can be so exhausting!

Love y'all!

you rock so hard

Hey lady, I have look at your blog before. I read your post last night and I haven't been able to stop crying since. How is it that you know how to say what I am thinking. I was so touched by your words. I've been up in my room packing, trying not to think about what I am leaving behind.

The idea of leaving my family doesn't bother me at all. It's leaving Portland, work and most importantly you. All of the good and bad times that we have had, all of the things that we have struggle with and enjoyed. These are the things I will miss the very most.

I started feeling this way the weekend I moved you down to your moms. I cried most of the way home knowing things could never be the way they used to be. Many things changed when you had Fi but we were still near by.

I have always known that life would carry us in different directions but it is very different imagining that and really experianceing it.

You will always be my bestest friend! I love you so much.
